When you find the tooth, carefully handle it, and only pick it up by the crown – do not touch the root. Gently rinse off any dirt that is on the tooth, and then store it in a sealed container which has been filled with milk or contact solution. The Dental Implant Process

  • When you get implants, there will be a few different appointments involved, including surgical placement of the implant root, the healing period, and the final reconstruction.
  • Although implant placement does require a small surgery, it is usually easier and more comfortable than having a tooth pulled out. Most of our patients are surprised at how quick and straightforward the surgery actually is.
  • After the surgery, the implant integrates with the bone over the next few months, and you will have to wear a temporary restoration for aesthetic purposes.
  • About three to six months later, we will fix the permanent crown, bridge or denture in place.

Are You a Candidate for Dental Implants?

  • Before you can receive implant treatment, our expert dentists will need to screen you for gum disease or decay and check the amount of healthy bone support.
